MCL signs MoU with KIIT for Skill Development 

Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL), the Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Coal, Government of India signs Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with KIIT for Skill Development of their 125 Employees through KIIT ITI on 10th August, 2017. In fact, the Skill Development Programme, which is commencing this year, 2017 will continue till 2019.

The MoU was signed in presence of Mr. B. C. Tripathy, GM, HRD of MCL alongwith their Senior Officials. Dr. Mihir Ranjan Nayak, Director Planning & Skill Development, KIIT University and Sri Narayan Mohanty, Principal, KIIT ITI were also present on the occasion. In the context, the Senior Functionaries of KIIT said, "We are thankful to the Miniratna Company like MCL for collaborating with KIIT".

World Youth Skills Day was celebrated at KIIT University

The 3rd World Youth Skills Day was celebrated on 15th July, 2017 at KSOM Auditorium, Campus-7 under the aegis of KIIT School of Advanced Skill (KSAS) in presence of more than 500 Skill Trainees. On the occasion, Appointment Letters were distributed to the successful trainees by Prof. Sasmita Samanta, Registrar and Mr. Sibananda Mishra, Director, HR of KIIT University. Also the KIIT Skill Website was launched by Sri R. N. Dash, Secretary, KIIT & KISS. Later, the prizes were distributed to the trainees for winning various competitions, which were organized prior to the event. The dignitaries remarked that, by the year 2025, as many as 75000 trainees will be completing Skill Development Training to condense the gap between skillful and unskillful human resources.

PROPOSAL ON SHORT TERM COURSES ON SKILL DEVELOPMENT TRAINING PROGRAMME TO BE OFFERED BY KIIT UNIVERSITY TO THE TRAINEES FROM BHUTAN

We got the approval from the Department of Human Resources, Ministry of Labour and Human Resources of Royal Govt., Bhutan and the programme. Registration and Briefing session of the trainees from Bhutan was held on Dt. 06/02/2017 under the aegis of KIIT Skill. Inaugural Function of Short Term Skill Development Training Programme for the participants from Bhutan was organized successfully on Dt. 08/02/2017 at Rose Garden, KIIT University. Relating to the following three areas like 1) Green Car Technology and Maintenance 2) Lift and Escalator Maintenance and 3) Post Harvest Technology, 60nos. of trainees are undergoing with the training from February, 2017 till June, 2017 at KIIT University.
